Illustration and Visual Narrative / Task 4

Animated 1 page Visual Novel

We were tasked to follow up from our digital triptych by creating one panel in a web comic style. I decided to set my sights on the second panel, as I feel that was where the conflict was lying and it would be the most interesting to animate.

First things first, I sketched out my page.

I felt that this was a good way of showing the violence without being too explicit about it, the tenseness of the situation as the protagonist thinks on this being a normal thing.

Once that is done, I used a combination of Illustrator and photoshop to create my panel.



I decided to use illustrator as a means of doing lineart as I feel it is best for doing something like that.

I then was able to clean up the lines, and then continued to use illustrator for the blood splatters, as well as creating some text.

Once I was able I then proceeded to add colour.



Once that was done I proceeded to add a tad bit more shading and turned out with my final piece.

Then after that, I proceeded to animate my work through using photoshop.

I then put my animation into google slides and paired it up with the appropriate triptych.
